Throwback Thursday is hosted by Renee of It’s Book Talk. This meme was created to share old favorites and/or books published over a year ago. Today I’m going to be sharing The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini.
Why I chose this book:
This book was INCREDIBLE! It had such an emotional effect on me. This is how I felt while reading it…
It was one of the books that reinvigorated my love of reading. In fact, I don’t think I was writing book reviews yet when I read The Kite Runner, so I don’t have a review to attach to this post. All I can say is it was a book that stayed with me for weeks afterwards, and it remains a favorite. Definitely a five-star read.
Have you read The Kite Runner? What did you think? Please feel free to share.

Thank you for reading. Until next time…

Thank you The Rulebook. ☺️
The Kite Runner was one of my all-time favorite reads. I have A Thousand Splendid Suns but have not read it yet. I’d love to hear what you think about it.
Thanks for your comment. 😊

I loved The Kite Runner, but I ended up loving And the Mountains Echoed even more. His writing style is so breathtaking and I didn’t notice that as much with The Kite Runner for some reason.

My daughter, who encouraged me to read The Kite Runner, said she liked The Kite Runner more than A Thousand Splendid Suns. And I don’t think she ever finished And the Mountains Echoed. I have both of those books. I’m going to have to read And the Mountains Echoed so I can weigh in. But don’t you just love how we all appreciate books for different reasons?
Thanks for your comment. 😊

I remember when this came out Laurie but I never read it. Reading about how much you loved it makes me think I need to reconsider. I think I thought it was going to be too violent or something.

Some of the subject matter is poignant and difficult to digest for sure, Kathryn, but it’s realistic, and the entire story as a whole encompasses loyalty, trust, betrayal, and so much more. So many elements to this incredible book. I hope you reconsider and give it a try.
